Divine Deco Semiotics —Art Deco ,925 Sterling silver Bouquet with Crystal Triangle Bloom ,Feminist jewelry , Gift for her .
During the Holocaust, homosexuals were sent to camps and required to sew inverted triangles on their clothes. But the symbol goes back in history further still: Paleolithic cave paintings often feature inverted triangles that have long been interpreted as representing vulvas. Now of course the symbol is adopted by the LGBT community.
Here we have a genuine Deco Moderne (early 1930’s) showpiece brooch in sterling and glass. Remarkably, the stylized bouquet’s handsomely cut blue crystal “flower” remains scratch-free and without chips.
Brooch is in excellent condition.
Weight: 27 grams
Brooch measures approximately :
2 & 3/8” (60.3mm) tall and equally wide, with the triangle being an inch (25.4mm) on a side and just over 6mm (.24”) thick at center, this piece is sure to be the focal point of any ensemble.
Hallmarks: Sterling
